The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced a cash prize of Rs8.2 million for Pakistan’s U-16 volleyball team and their coaches for their impressive performance in the Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship.
According to the PSB’s 2024 cash award policy, each of the 12 players will receive Rs600,000, making a total of Rs7.2 million, while the coaching staff will get Rs1 million.
The young green shirts made history by staging a thrilling comeback to defeat defending champions Iran 3-2 in the final. The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament, displaying outstanding skill and teamwork.
On their way to the title, they defeated strong teams like Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Indonesia, and Chinese Taipei. They defeated arch-rivals India 3-0 back-to-back in the semi-finals.
