Karachi Building Collapse in Lyari: 10 Dead, 9 Injured in Tragic Accident

A big accident happened in Karachi. A five-storey building in the Lyari area fell down. It happened on a hot July day. Many people were inside. The building crashed very fast.

What Happened ?

On Saturday, a building with five floors fell in Lyari. People were living inside. It was an old building. Some families lived on the top floors. When the building collapsed, it made a loud noise. People nearby got scared and ran to help.

Rescue teams came quickly. They started pulling people from under the broken bricks. Ambulances took the injured to the hospital. Sadly, 10 people died, and 9 others were hurt. Six injured people got better and went home.

Why Did the Building Collapse ?

Officials said the building was dangerous. It had many cracks. It was very old. People were told to leave the building before. But many families stayed. After some rain in the past few days, the walls became weaker. Then the building fell.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab said that Karachi has more buildings like this. These buildings are not safe. People live in them because they have no other place. The government is now checking these buildings again.

Rescue Work and Help

Right after the fall, rescue workers came. Teams used machines to break the big stones and find people inside. Fire trucks, police, and doctors also helped. Neighbors gave water and helped the rescue teams.

The hospitals treated the injured. Doctors worked hard to save lives. One of the injured was a child.

What the Mayor Said

Mayor Wahab said this was a big tragedy. He said people must not live in buildings that are broken or weak. The mayor told the building department to make a new list of unsafe buildings. He wants everyone to stay safe.

He also said the city will help families who lost their homes.

Why This Matters

This accident shows that safety is very important. Old buildings can be very dangerous. If officials say a building is not safe, it is best to leave it. A life is more important than a home.

Everyone must follow the rules. Builders must make strong buildings. Families must report broken walls or water leaks.

Let’s Remember

  • 10 people died in the collapse.
  • 9 people were injured, and 6 went home safely.
  • The building was old and unsafe.
  • Rescue teams worked day and night to save lives.
  • Mayor promises to take action for building safety.

Conclusion:
This sad event teaches us to check our homes. We must live in safe places. The government must make sure buildings are strong. Everyone should work together to keep people safe.
