Man Arrested in Daska for Impersonating Army Colonel to Influence Land Dispute
The Punjab Police in Daska have arrested a man who falsely claimed to be a colonel in the Pakistan Army in an attempt to influence a land dispute case. The suspect tried to pressure Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sadia Jaffer into making a favorable decision by pretending to be a senior military officer.
According to officials, the man contacted AC Sadia Jaffer by phone and falsely introduced himself as a serving colonel. He urged her to intervene in a property matter, claiming it was a matter of high importance. The suspect also sent multiple follow-up messages to continue the pressure.
However, AC Sadia Jaffer became suspicious due to noticeable grammatical errors and inconsistencies in the communication. Her doubts grew when the impersonator said that his “representative” would visit her office.
Acting swiftly, the AC alerted DSP City Daska and requested a formal inquiry. Police traced the suspect using his phone number and location data. He was arrested shortly after and is now facing serious charges including impersonation, fraud, and interfering with official government work.
This case has raised concerns about how easily individuals can attempt to misuse the name of the armed forces for personal gain. Authorities have confirmed that strict legal action will be taken, and investigations are ongoing to determine whether the accused was working alone or with support from others. Propakistan
